
The Gullah Book of the Dead project was initiated by Ramona La Roche, a USC Cultural Heritage Informatics Leadership fellow and community collaborative partner, and Funded in part by an Enough Pie Community Project grant. Other support was provided by indigenous Charleston County librarian leader, Kim Odom, Manager of the John L. Dart branch, Lowcountry Africana, and Fly Away.
Results from the photography sessions will culminate with a travelling photography exhibit premeiring at the 1600 Meeting Street venue, November - January, 2015.
La Roche and Dr. Ade Ofunniyin, Anthropologist, Director of Gullah Society, and College of Charlston faculty, are Curators for the exhibit.
